If you follow love far enough, you will be misunderstood, you will be made fun of, you will be falsely accused and mistreated. Radical love might cost you your life — as it cost Jesus his life. Jesus said, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Whatever your story, whatever your struggle, the beatitudes invite us all to a ninefold path of recovery. In them, we hear the whispers of another world, a new way of being human together.
